power sleights
It's a kind of magic, just a bit of fun: the cynical campaigns for democracies.
Cynicism is cool. Forty years ago though I found it shocking that an actor could stand in as US president - and that electorates could be content with the script. An oxymoron now, the U.K is to be commanded by a more established buffoon. It makes no odds. It seems people are eager to believe anything - even a bus. The story written it moves move. How cynical is that.
Without a fairytale ending - but to rapturous applause - the political pantomime has run its course again. It's just a bit of democratic fun to tuck people in - the evil plot undone a prince back upon the throne - content continuing foreign wars. With masterful misdirection the blond assistant has simply vanished from the stage, and we stand back in awe. How cynical was that.
We understand that Tweedle-Dum will shower Tweedle-Dee with gold - frankincense perhaps - and no doubt with advisors. Commissioned to the War(s)-on-Terror (-and-Socialism) to fight enemies both foreign and domestic by any means necessary the UK will serve, a beachhead into Europe twinned with those into the Middle East. The final sleight-of-hand: Zionism the one true semite. How cynical was that!
